Loutit Mediation

Loutit Mediation assists clients with resolving disputes out of court and reaching mutually agreeable settlements through the mediation process.

Mediation allows the parties to control the outcome of a dispute, rather than a judge or jury.  The firm conducts mediations in-person in its Wilmington and Raleigh offices or via Zoom.

As a former Commissioner and Chief Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, Mediator Christopher Loutit holds extensive institutional knowledge and experience presiding over hundreds of contested workers' compensation claims, as well as negligence actions brought against the state of North Carolina.  As a plaintiff's attorney and former insurance defense attorney, he understands the challenges and opportunities presented from each side and brings unique legal expertise to assist parties in mediated settlement conferences.

Christopher holds further professional experience in corporate finance as a former analyst on Wall Street in the investment banking division of UBS.  He enjoys assisting clients with complex business, fiduciary, financial advisor, merger and acquisition, private equity, private placement, venture capital, trust, and securities disputes.

Christopher is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission as a Superior Court Mediator.
